 Non-Sales Jobs

Content Strategist

Swoop is expanding and we have an opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Content Strategist to pioneer the expansion and development of Swoop’s digital offering, including three websites and a whole host of digital communications. Our website is our shop window to the world, and this is a crucial role in the growth of our business.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting directly to Luke Errington (Founder and Managing Director), you will be given complete accountability for creating, updating and maintaining website content in order to drive conversion rates to enquiry, and organic search traffic.

You’ll have the opportunity to devise, develop and manage a rolling twelve-month content plan for our three websites. Reviewing and optimising the IA for all three sites and identifying opportunities to improve the UI of key page templates and CMS features, managing internal and external resources.

We expect that you will manage our SEO agency and be responsible for the implementation of our on-page SEO programme. Our content isn’t limited to web copy and imagery; we also have a portfolio of illustrated guides and maps, and you’ll be responsible for their planning, curation and distribution.

Who you’ll be

You’ll have seen and led similar content development programmes for several different websites, be familiar with multiple CMS platforms, and you’ll enjoy creating clarity and structure in complex systems.

You’ll understand the fundamentals of SEO and be confident in getting the best out of an SEO agency. You’ll have seen and led similar content development programmes for several different websites, and be familiar with multiple CMS platforms.

You’ll have observed numerous usability tests and have an objective and nuanced view of usability and UI design.

This is an autonomous role where we’ll look to you to use your initiative, previous experience and a naturally strategic approach to deliver tangible results for the business. You’ll need the confidence, skills and experience to drive strategic direction, with little external guidance.

An agency background would fit well with the variety of this role, but if you've worked extensively within a business that utilises online presence as a sole “shop window” we’d definitely be interested in a conversation. In addition, you’ll be an influencer with strong interpersonal skills, able to manage multiple relationships and comfortable reporting at board level. You will also have a passion for all that is possible out in the open air.

In return, we can offer

A competitive salary, dependent on your level of experience (including a company bonus), 25 days holiday per annum (plus your birthday), oh, and the best views in Bristol. Seriously, we don’t call our offices ‘The Condors’ Nest’ for nothing.

How to apply

If you think this sounds like the perfect role for you, send a copy of your CV and a one page covering letter to careers@swooptravel.co.uk

Patagonia Bookings Coordinator

As our sales team grows, we need to continue to build an epic team to support our customers with the next steps of their Swoop booking.

What will you be doing?

You will own a customers journey from the point they book, to the point they return from their trip, providing excellent customer service throughout. Supporting, exciting and inspiring our customers about their forthcoming adventure is key, and customer interaction both over the phone and via email is vitally important. We aim to turn all of our customers into ambassadors for Swoop, and our regions through excellent customer engagement and service, and you will play a very important role in achieving this.

In addition to supporting our customers, you will also be providing crucial support to our Patagonia Sales team and be required to build close working relationships with our partners on the ground in Patagonia. We ensure this by being exemplary in our communication: sharing with customers our specialist knowledge of the essential nuts and bolts that make up their trips; responding to requests in a timely, efficient and sensitive manner; and taking responsibility for customers being fully prepared for their adventures by providing excellent quality, highly accurate travel documentation.

Who You’ll be

We need a customer-focused individual who will go above and beyond to deliver excellent service to our customers.  Confidence to pick up the phone and engage with our customers and get them excited and prepared for the incredible adventure that lies ahead is key. To ensure high levels of customer service, a great attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and exceptional organisational skills are also required. We are a small team of 8 people and we work closely together. We need a team player who will easily fit into our hard-working, fun and supportive team.

In return we can offer

A competitive salary (dependent on experience), 25 day of annual leave, plus your birthday off. In 2019, we are also offering a volunteering day, annual travel insurance and a leisure/wellbeing fund towards a hobby of your choice. In addition to all of this, we offer the best views in Bristol - seriously, we don’t call our office the Condor’s Nest for nothing.

Senior Flights Specialist

Our Bristol team is growing - as is the number of customers we send to the ends of the earth each year - and we’re looking for a Senior Flights Specialist to help shape our growing Flights Team and to take it to the next level.

What you’ll be doing

With increasing numbers of Swoop customers requesting assistance with their flight planning and a growing appreciation of its strategic importance, we’re looking for a commercially astute Flights ‘guru’ who’s capable of juggling a broad remit: from architecting our flights strategy and developing key partnerships at the higher level, to being a supportive line manager of a growing team, while also rolling up the sleeves and being involved with helping customers on a daily basis.

Your remit is to take our current flight function from ‘good to great’. From a small (1 person), modest-scale to a highly successful business unit in its own right at Swoop, delivering outstanding service to both customers and internal stakeholders alike.

Who you’ll be

Firstly, you need to be something of a self-confessed ‘flight nerd’ - someone who revels in knowing obscure city flight codes and which are the best seats to book. Don’t be shy, it's your awesome attention to detail and love of the aviation industry we’re looking for!

For a role at this level we’re also obviously looking for somebody who’s been-there-and- done-that when it comes to booking flights:

  • Deep knowledge of all things flights-related

  • Ninja-status of at least one GDS system & the ability to train up others

  • Know-how on how to trouble-shoot when necessity calls

But being good at identifying tail decals and splitting PNR’s doesn’t do this role justice by half. We’re also looking for somebody with the ambition, commercial smarts and business development skills to really grasp the opportunity and grow this side of the business to reach its full potential. This position holds so much opportunity for the right person.

You may currently be working for an airline in-house, in Business Travel, or be a Senior Flight Specialist or Branch manager who’s looking for the next challenge and career step.

In return, we can offer

In return, we offer a competitive starting salary (base salary and monthly company bonus), 25 days annual holiday, plus your birthday. To top it all off, our office has some of the best views of Bristol. Seriously, we don’t call it ‘The Condors’ Nest’ for nothing.
