Swoop is expanding and we’re looking for an experienced polar specialist to help drive polar sales by expertly selling trips primarily to Antarctica. Our head office is in Bristol but we have a global team and for the right person home working is an option.
You would join a small, passionate, highly-productive team of globally-spread polar specialists; three people in the UK, one person in Argentina and one person in Australasia.
What you'll be doing
As part of a small growing team, your role will be to help drive our polar sales to achieve our growth plans. Alongside sales, you will also be responsible for helping to improve our websites, fostering close working relations with our key partners and supporting the marketing of our destinations. Depending on the experience you bring, you can expect extensive sales and product training from some of the best in the business and an overseas trip once a year to help deepen your expertise.
The job is primarily office-based, however, at times this will require flexibility to meet suppliers, attend customer meetings and industry events.
Who you'll be
Perhaps you have been in sales for a while but have a passion for travelling and you are itching for a new adventure? You will have an infectious passion for the Polar regions and potentially even first hand experience. Whichever your experience, it will be coupled with impeccable client facing skills, alongside excellent written and verbal communication.
You’ll be commercially aware, have the ability to inspire and enthuse potential customers about these incredible regions. Most importantly you will have outstanding listening skills and the intuition to understand what customers want even before they do.
In return, we can offer
There is the potential for a home working role depending on experience, with the flexibility to choose your own workplace. We already have six geographically-spread colleagues and have the experience and technology to help bridge gaps in geography. If Bristol based and the working hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday only however, as a small and rapidly growing company there are occasions when work beyond standard office hours is required. To top it all off, our office has some of the best views of Bristol. Seriously, we don’t call it ‘The Condors’ Nest’ for nothing.
A competitive salary, dependent on your level of experience (plus polar sales team bonus and company bonus), 20 days holiday per annum (plus your birthday), and annual 2-3 week reconnaissance trips.
