About the role
Our website is one of Swoop's most important commercial assets, helping thousands of travellers discover and book life-changing adventures to Antarctica and Patagonia.
We're looking for a commercially-minded Digital Optimisation Lead to take ownership of our website's performance, ensuring it continually evolves to generate more qualified enquiries, improve conversion rates and deliver measurable commercial growth.
This is a strategic yet hands-on role where you'll shape and deliver our website optimisation roadmap, working closely with Marketing, Product, Technology and Sales. Using customer insight, analytics and experimentation, you'll identify opportunities to improve the customer journey, prioritise enhancements and ensure every change delivers value for both our customers and the business.

What success look like
In this role you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on one of Swoop's most important commercial channels. Success will be measured through improvements in website conversion, qualified enquiry generation, customer engagement and the delivery of a prioritised optimisation roadmap that drives real commercial results.
Key responsibilities
Own and deliver Swoop's website optimisation strategy, aligning activity with commercial objectives and business priorities
Identify opportunities to improve website performance, lead generation and conversion through customer insight, analytics and experimentation
Develop and manage a prioritised optimisation roadmap, balancing customer value with commercial impact
Analyse customer journeys to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement
Lead website optimisation initiatives including landing pages, enquiry journeys, forms and conversion pathways
Work closely with Product Design and Technology teams to implement and evaluate A/B tests and optimisation experiments
Partner with Marketing to maximise the effectiveness of website traffic and improve lead quality
Monitor website performance, reporting on KPIs including conversion, enquiry volume, engagement and lead quality
Build dashboards and reporting frameworks that translate data into actionable commercial recommendations
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation and evidence-based decision making across the business
About you
Essential Experience:
Proven experience (typically 5+ years) leading website optimisation or Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) programmes within a digital, ecommerce or lead generation business
Strong understanding of customer journey optimisation and improving website conversion performance
Experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and customer behaviour analytics tools to identify optimisation opportunities
Experience designing, implementing and analysing A/B tests and experimentation programmes
Commercially minded, with a strong focus on measurable business outcomes and return on investment
Confident prioritising multiple initiatives based on customer value, commercial impact and business priorities
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across Marketing, Product, Technology and Commercial teams
Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of complex cross-functional projects

Experience within travel, ecommerce, marketplaces or premium consumer brands would be advantageous
Experience supporting website migrations, redevelopment projects or digital transformation initiatives would be beneficial
Exposure to AI-powered optimisation, personalisation or experimentation tools would be an advantage
Experience working within the UK market would be advantageous
Employment details
Holiday:
Twenty-five days paid holiday, in addition to your birthday and public holidays
Working Hours:Full-time:
37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm.
Working Arrangements:
Primarily remote, with a visit to our Bristol office approximately once every two weeks for collaboration, planning and team connection. This approach offers the flexibility of remote working while ensuring regular face-to-face time with colleagues.
Swoop will reimburse reasonable travel expenses incurred when attending our Bristol office for these required visits.
