      Deputy Sales Manager - Adventure travel

About the role

We are seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Deputy Sales Manager to support the Senior Sales Manager in leading a team of 17  Antarctica sales Consultants & Specialists.

This newly created role will focus on training, coaching, and developing the sales team, driving performance, and maintaining high levels of engagement and motivation. You will act as a point of leadership for the team in the day-to-day operations, working closely with the Senior Sales Manager to deliver global sales targets and ensure a consistent, high-performing sales function.

Key responsibilities

Sales support & performance

  • Support the Senior Sales Manager in driving sales performance across the Antarctica sales team.

  • Lead performance-led reviews with individual team members and support follow-up actions.

  • Monitor KPIs and sales data to identify opportunities for improvement, growth, and coaching.

  • Actively contribute to sales strategy execution, ensuring consistency across the team in approach and standards.

Team development & coaching

  • Coach, mentor, and develop sales consultants, helping them reach individual and team targets.

  • Support onboarding and training of new team members, embedding Swoop’s sales methodology and customer-first approach.

  • Maintain engagement, motivation, and morale across the remote sales team.

Operational & commercial support

  • Ensure effective use of CRM systems, reporting tools, and analytics to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Sales Manager on commercial initiatives, campaigns, and sales process improvements.

  • Act as a reliable point of escalation for team queries or challenges, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Culture & values

  • Build strong cross-cultural relationships across the team, encouraging collaboration in a remote environment.

About you

You Must-have:

  • At least 4 years’  sales experience within travel, expeditions, or cruise industries

  • At least 2  years’ experience  in a deputy or leadership role

  • A proven track record in delivering strong sales performance

  • Strong coaching, mentoring and people development skills

  • Confidence managing performance conversations and holding individuals accountable

  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate a remote, diverse team

  • Ability to work the required shift pattern

Ideally, You Will: 

  • Proficient in CRM systems, analytics, and reporting tools

  • Be commercially astute, confident interpreting sales data and KPIs

  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment

  • Have a genuine passion for adventure travel and alignment with Swoop’s sustainability values

Employment details

Holiday:

  • Twenty-five days paid holiday, in addition to your birthday and public holidays 

Working Hours:

  • UK - This is a Monday to Friday role, with working hours of 9am - 5.30pm, with 3 x late shifts per week from 11:30am - 8pm, designed to support our international customer base.

Working Arrangements:

Remote:

  • Even for remote team members, occasional visits to our Bristol office may be required for training, team collaboration, or key meetings

  • All team members will also be required to join our International Togetherness event, held once a year — a chance for the entire global Swoop team to connect in person
