Product & Commercial Manager - Antarctica
About Swoop
We are a global community of over 100 adventure travel enthusiasts – ex-guides, avid travellers, and those with an adventurous spirit – spanning five continents. Since 2010, we've helped thousands of people experience the trip of a lifetime in Antarctica & Patagonia. Our success is rooted in our intimate knowledge of these incredible regions, our deep care for their preservation, our commitment, as a B Corp, to doing what's right for people and the planet and, above all, our connectedness as a global team.
About the role
We're looking for an experienced and commercially-minded Product & Contracts Manager to own the end-to-end product and commercial relationship for our range across Patagonia and/or Antarctica – from strategy and design through to partner negotiation, contracting and in-season yield.
This is a senior, autonomous role at the centre of the product and buying function. You'll set product strategy and direction – deciding what we sell and why – and own the commercial relationship with our cruise, hotel and DMC partners, negotiating the rates, commissions, overrides, offers and terms that keep our range both compelling and commercially strong.
You'll build and deliver the growth strategy for your destination portfolio – spotting where the opportunity is and shaping the plan to get there – while co-managing a Product & Contract Exec who supports the operational admin, sales support and day-to-day queries that keep the function running. Some people management experience is preferable, as you'll be developing this role over time.
Key responsibilities
Product strategy & portfolio growth
Own the product strategy and roadmap for your region(s), directly linked to Swoop's overall business plan and commercial targets
Build and deliver the growth strategy for your destination portfolio, identifying gaps, opportunities and where to sunset underperforming product
Set the direction for twin-centre, new-destination and new-experience development, testing viability with Commercial and Marketing input
Translate market trends, competitor activity and customer expectations into a clear, prioritised product plan
Keep Swoop's product offering industry-leading by staying close to market, competitor and customer trends
Ensure products meet Swoop's Health & Safety, insurance and ESG requirements
Commercial ownership & partner negotiation
Own the end-to-end commercial relationship with cruise, hotel, DMC, transport and activity partners across your destination(s)
Lead contracting and negotiation, securing best-in-class rates, commissions, overrides, special offers and commercial terms
Build long-term, senior-level partner relationships through regular contact, site visits and partner events
Own the sourcing strategy, using the right channel to maximise revenue, speed to market and margin, and lower cost to serve
Actively manage yield, pricing and release strategy in response to demand and booking trends
Act as the primary escalation point for partner-side commercial issues
Product design & destination experience
Design and continuously refine product so it's compelling, operationally sound and aligned with Swoop's brand and sustainability values
Own the product from concept through to post-season review, ensuring quality and safety standards are met throughout
Design exclusive products and features that give Swoop a genuine point of difference
Identify and lead improvements to the in-destination experience – the moments that shape how a trip is remembered
Deliver strategy through 'recces' for our teams, ensuring annual coverage of key commercial destinations and sharing learnings company-wide
Performance & commercial analysis
Monitor product and partner performance against budget, margin, occupancy and override targets
Analyse booking trends, conversion and rate performance to inform product and buying decisions
Track savings, rebates and override achievement through to P&L impact
Lead post-season reviews, turning performance and commercial insight into next season's product and contracting plan
Team leadership
Co-manage the Product & Contract Exec(s) for your destination(s), directing their support on content accuracy, sales support, rate updates and partner records
Organise and prioritise the team's workload, coaching and developing them as the function grows
Support recce planning and delivery so team learnings are captured and shared
Cross-functional collaboration
Brief the content team on product and rate accuracy for ship and trip pages, and support Marketing with accuracy checks across the wider site
Support Marketing and PR with destination insights, market updates, recce footage and imagery to strengthen Swoop's storytelling
Work with Sales and CX to ensure deep product and commercial knowledge is transferred to the teams selling and delivering the trips
Partner with Sustainability to embed Swoop's sustainability priorities into product and destination choices
Work with Finance on payment terms, budget tracking and margin reporting
Chair new product initiative meetings, training and company updates as needed

Confident, experienced negotiator, comfortable leading high-value supplier negotiations on rates, commissions, overrides and terms

Track record of building a destination portfolio and spotting growth opportunities, not just maintaining what exists
Some people management experience preferred – able to co-manage and develop a Product & Contract Exec
Knowledge of Patagonia and/or Antarctica as destinations and their supplier landscapes
A track record of sunsetting underperforming product as confidently as launching new product
Experience with API connectivity, booking platforms or contracting/reservation systems
